USAID PROJECT TO CREATE 25.000 JOBS
National.
USAID's five-year Competitiveness Project, which will help Macedonia improve its competitive position within the global market, is set to create 25.000 new jobs for Macedonia.
This $9.7 million initiative will stimulate foreign and domestic investment, improve productivity of private enterprises, and generate significant numbers of new jobs for Macedonia.
The Project will be implemented by CARANA Corporation, which has specialized in formulating and implementing effective strategies for accelerating economic growth.
CARANA President Eduardo Tugendhat said the project will be implemented on the basis on partnership with foreign companies that want to invest in Macedonia.
The Project will contribute technical assistance to support catalytic foreign investments and enhanced linkages into global supply chains for Macedonian firms.
The Project welcomes applications for partnerships with anchor companies, investors and investment promoting entities, business associations, financial institutions, educations service providers and infrastructural service providers.
A review Committee will select the partnerships that best meet the following criteria: contribute measurably to significant new investment, job creation and export value; address major constraints to investment and competitiveness in priority opportunity areas; leverage co-financing and commitments by partners, also leading to sustainable capacity.
Supported by USAID, The Competitiveness Project team is committed to pursuing initiatives that achieve measurable FDI growth and jobs while increasing revenue and value for supply chains of companies operating in Macedonia.
