OVATIONS FOR TRPCESKI IN PHILADELPHIA
Culture.
Macedonian piano virtuoso Simon Trpceski performed for the first time with the world-renowned Philadelphia Symphonic Orchestra in the course of the past weekend.
Trpceski’s three concerts were sold out, held under the baton of Antonio Papano, the musical director of royal opera “Covent Garden” in London. The program included pieces by Glinka and Rachmaninov, while Trpceski received ovations for his performance of Concerto No.3 for piano and orchestra by Prokofiev.
“It is a provocation to play with the orchestra, which is one of the five leading in America. The chance to play with Antonio Papano is more than a privilege, because he is currently one of the best world conductors”, said Trpceski.
Papano said of Trpceski, “This is my second opportunity to cooperate with Simon. His development is fantastic, having the power to perform a different repertoire. He possesses incredible virtuosity and skill to create such beautiful colors with the piano”.
The Philadelphia performance marked the end of this year’s exceptionally successful U.S. tour, which included four sold out concerts with the New York Philharmonic, as well as the legendary Lorin Mazel by the end of September.
MD: Congratulations! Trpceski is very popular among classical music lovers, and get's even more popular day by day.
