ST.KLIMENT DAY TO BE CELEBRATED IN NEW YORK

The Day of St. Kliment Ohridski, the Patron of Ohrid and the Macedonian Orthodox Church, will be celebrated for the first time in New York this year. Ohrid, the UNESCO town, will be presented with a solemn concert and the audience will be able to get familiar with the town’s natural beauties and the cultural and historical heritage through an exhibition of art photographs.
The concert gala will be held at the famous Melody Almond Concert Gall in organization of UNESCO today, and the central event honouring St. Kliment Ohridski will be held at the Cooper Art and Science Centre in Manhattan on 5th December when an exhibition of photographs by Zoran Veljanovski-Letra opens in front of prominent figures from the cultural life of New York. The exhibition of Ohrid, the Ohrid and Prespa region, and Macedonian vaults consists of 32 consists of 32 art photographs with motifs of the Ohrid and Ohrid-Prespa region cultural and historical heritage.
Ohrid will be presented as a town of culture from the antiquity to present day, a unique form of promotion of a town known in New York as “the pearl of Europe.” Ohrid Mayor Aleksandar Petreski will open the show, and UNESCO Ambassador and author Jordan Plevnes will refer to Ohrid and Macedonia.
