MONOGRAPH ON HERAKLEA LYNCESTIS
Culture.
Macedonians and Hellenes are two different peoples, reads one of the arguments presented in the monograph on Heraclea Lyncestis, which was promoted in Bitola on Thursday.
Renowned Bitola archaeologist Anica Gjorgjievska makes a review of the 23-year research activities on the antique town, which had been established by great Macedonian leader Philip II in the 4th century B.C.
“The monograph represents a historic story about Heraclea through photographs and scientific text. I say there is no dilemma that Macedonians and Hellenes are two different peoples. I used archaeological findings and historic sources that favor Macedonia, such as the Philippic of Demosthenes, which says that Philip is neither a Hellene, nor a Barbarian, but of the plague Macedonian, where one would not even buy a slave from”, says the author.
The luxurious monograph contains 260 pages, beginning with the town’s establishment, development during Roman rule, giving evidence on life in the Middle Ages.
Pasko Kuzman and Kiril Trajkovski are the book reviewers. The monograph is published with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture, an Italian donation, and Bitola Municipality.
MD: We all know our good friend, Demosthenes, the great orator, the one the Greeks are trying to cover up and forget as soon as possible

Greeks are great at insulting each other... Demosthenese told the Macedonians that they were Barbarians, he said it in the native language of the Macedonians; sadly, it was not a Slavic language, but Greek.
However, Strabo, said, “Macedonia, of course, is a part of Greece”.
And Isocrates, in his Speeches and Letters “To Philip”, said “It is your privilege, as one who has been blessed with untrammeled freedom, to consider all Hellas your fatherland, as did the founder of your race.”
As for Diodorus of Scicily, he said “...and the Athenians were not ready to concede the leading position among the Greeks to Macedon.”
Thank you, MD, stimulating Greeks to look into their history.

Why would anyone bother what someone may have said all those years ago. I wonder if it would be true any way? History shows that there will always be betrayal and bios of one race to benefit the greedy and the Greeks are the best at showing this. A people of useless myths and gods which would have only meant something to them and no one else. Greeks have no true legends. The Macedonians do in Alexander The Great. If not for Alexander The Great the Greeks would still be a people living in caves and stealing peoples ideas.
