Macedonia's new name should be based on a geographic determinant, said Tuesday in Belgrade Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Petros Dukas.
He stated that Athens would support Macedonia "in every possible way as soon as the name row is resolved".
"Greek Macedonia is larger by territory and population from the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and we cannot overlook this. We believe that a geographic name is a good basis for a solution", said Dukas.
He added that "as a result of the friendly settlement of the dispute", Greece is ready to support Macedonia "financially and in every way possible". This is from a country that owes 112% of their GDP.

We have to live together and we have to open our minds for the common interest of all and peace!!!
Which of you believe that a close relation of the 2 countries isn't the best solution?
Macedonians have to accept the existence of Slavomacedonians and Slavomacedonians have to accept the fact that Greece has historical rights on macedonia and the 90% of the macedonian geografical territory!
Both can share the macedonian history that is part of Greek history not offending each other!
Let's start a serious dialogue on the issue!
Slavomacedonians feel ethnic as macedonians but forget that in greece feel macedonians too!!!
Any way we have to leave aside the hostility and understand that greeks aren't enemies of slavomacedonians but they are angry because they see maps with hostile messages from official sources, symbols to be used as belonging to the slavomacedonian side (having found only in greece and bellonging to the greek history but can be shared in other ways..)etc.
STOP HOSTILITY AND TALK BETWEEN US SERIOUSLY!!!

You, athenian, start with the insults from the get go by referring to us Macedonians as 'slavomacedonians'. There is no such thing. Our ethnicity is, and always will be Macedonian, and our Macedonian language belongs to the slavic family of languages. There is no 'slavic blood' or 'slavic ethnicity'. If you were smart enough to research this, you would have known, instead of arguing with false information.
The truth is that the athenian nation tried to eradicate everything Macedonian (people, place names, culture, history) from the year 1913 to the early 90's when Macedonia became independent. Before the 90's it was illegal to mention the word 'Macedonia' in the athenian republic, now all of a sudden all you christian turks who were transplanted from Anatolia to Macedonia after 1913 are Macedonian??? I don't think so.
Macedonia for the Macedonians, christian turkey for the christian turks
