The historic success of Macedonia's handball team of advancing to the quarterfinals of the World Championship in Croatia, threw the country into euphoria, prompting hundreds of Macedonian supporters to head for Croatia.
About 1,000 fans that supported Macedonia at the group matches in Varazdin are now moving to Zadar. They will be joined by hundreds more leaving for Croatia by buses and charter flights.
"There is an enormous interest for our bus and flight arrangements, including tickets for the next two matches of our team," a representative of the Skopje-based tour operator "Orfej" told Makfax agency.
Macedonia's participation at the World Championship continues by playing matches in Zadar, in a group that includes also Germany, Poland, Norway, Denmark and most likely, Serbia.
The next match against Norway will take place on Saturday. The next day, Macedonia plays against Denmark and against Serbia on Tuesday.
