MACEDONIA 105th IN CORRUPTION RANKINGS

Macedonia is ranked on the 105th place with a 2.7 CPI score on the 2006 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) by Transparency International, a civil society organisation which is leading the fight against corruption in the world.
Macedonia is ranked extremely low, the only European nations behind Macedonia are; Albania, Russia and Belarus. In 2005, Macedonia was ranked 103rd, and a year before it was ranked 97th.
Finland, Iceland and New Zealand lead the index all with the same 9.6 score, followed by Denmark, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Australia and the Netherlands.
Haiti stands at the bottom of the 2006 list with Iraq and Myanmar right above it.
MD: We were very surprised, only 3 european countries behind us? Even Serbia and Bosnia are ranked higher!
