PARLIAMENT TO DEBATE NATIONAL HOLIDAYS
National.
The Macedonian Parliament started debating the proposed alterations to the law on
national holidays.
The draft-law, tabled by the government, sparked discordant stands as the opposition parties disagree with some proposals for national holidays, in particular the initiative to declare the VMRO's foundation day as country's national holiday.
This proposal also caused disagreements among governing coalition parties. The NSDP cautioned against haste in declaring VMRO's foundation day and the Albanian Flag Day as national holidays. Tito Petkovski's NSDP cautioned against rushing to extend the national holiday list, noting that the draft-law should be enforced in two phases rather than in urgent procedure as government proposes.
MD: This is a big thing in Macedonia recently....
