WORLD HAIKU AWARD TO NIKOLA MADZIROV

Macedonian young poet Nikola Madzirov is the winner of the second award in the prestigious Samhain International Poetry Festival in Ireland. The festival bestows the highest monetary awards in the world for a haiku poetry cycle.
The jury decided that the second award amounting to euro 1000 goes to Nikola Madzirov in competition of about 100 works that had applied to the anonymous competition. The first award winner was Janak Salkota of Nepal, and the third U.S. Christopher Herold.
Madzirov’s poetry was published in International Poets, Indian poetry magazine.
Madzirov is the author of the books of poetry: “Locked in the City” (1999), “Somewhere, Somewhere” (1999), haiku-poetry book “Asphalt in the Sky (2003) and a selection of poems “Somewhere in the City” (2004).
