PARLIAMENT REJECTS CONCLUSIONS ON SECURITY SITUATION

National.

Macedonian Parliament rejected today the conclusions on the security situation in the country, which were put forward by the opposition.

The MPs of the ruling majority led by VMRO DPMNE, voted against the conclusion that the security situation in Macedonia has deteriorated in the aftermath of the shooting incident in Vaksince.

The conclusions were put forward by the opposition SDSM, on which initiative the Parliament held a debate yesterday on the reflections on the security situation after the incident in the Lipkovo region, in which one policeman was shot dead and two were heavily injured in a shootout with armed attackers.

The MPs of the ruling coalition pointed out that the investigation on the incident that took place early on Monday is still ongoing and suggested refraining from jumping to conclusions.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Parliament resumed the 69th session, whose agenda includes the disputed government's proposal on alterations to the Electoral Code.

The opposition DUI, which tabled as much as 4.100 amendments and SDSM that announced boycotting the session are opposing the proposal.
