POSSIBILITY OF AIRPORT IN STIP

Representatives of the NACO, B.V. Netherlands Airport Consultants, will look into the possibility of building a small-size cargo airport in Stip.
The Ministry of Transportation and Communication announced this today, after the meeting between the Minister Janakievski and representatives of the visiting Dutch consulting team.
According to the tender criteria, NACO is due to work out a study of concession model on development solutions of the airports in Skopje and Ohrid.
The study on the Skopje's Alexander the Great airport will include elaboration of a project on expansion or reconstruction of the existing terminal or construction of a new one with capacity of 1.5 passengers, expansion, reconstruction or construction of a new administrative building, expansion and improvement of the category of the runway or construction of a new one, reconstruction and upgrading of the cargo terminal or construction of a new one with capacity of 50.000 tons of goods, and technical equipping of the airport to comply with the international standards in complement categories.
The chosen consulting team is also due to elaborate a study on the Ohrid's St Apostle Paul airport, expansion and improvement of the category of the airport's runway or construction of a new one, reconstruction of the cargo terminal, setting up of an aviation training center and technical equipping of the airport to comply with the international standards in complement categories.
