THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR ATTACK TO BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE

National.

European Ambassador Erwan Fouere sent a message that those responsible for the incident near Tanusevci in which one policeman was killed and two more injured have to be brought to justice.

The Ambassador said that all efforts should be put into tracking down and punishing of the perpetrators.

Fouere pointed out that the European Union is very concerned because the incident took place in a sensitive area, where similar incidents occurred before.

"The economic problems of the region, especially the weak infrastructure, should not be underestimated either. Something must be done to improve the economic situation of the people living in this area," the Ambassador said.

Fouere said it was too early to say if the Tanusevci incident was connected with resolving of the Kosovo issue. Nevertheless, such incidents do not contribute to peaceful resolution of the province's status, said EU Ambassador.
