MONEY FOR JPS, STADIUM, ZOO AND BITOLA INDUSTRIAL ZONE

Macedonian Government earmarked a total of Euro 12,3 from the 2007 Budget for four new projects, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said Tuesday at a press conference.
The funds are to be allocated: Euro 4,4 million to the Public Transportation Enterprise (JSP) for purchasing 45-50 modern buses; Euro six million for construction of north seating platform of Skopje stadium; Euro 700,000 for reconstruction and modernization of Skopje Zoo; and Euro 1,2 million for the infrastructure of Bitola industrial zone.
In the history of Macedonia's capital this is going to be the largest investment in public transportation. It will substantially improve the public transportation service for over 0,5 million citizens of Skopje region, Gruevski said, reminding of the Government's decision to cut transport VAT from 18 to five percent.
The attitude of a society towards zoos demonstrates its attitude towards human values, science, environment, and rising of the future generation's awareness of these values. We believe that the funds will contribute to the development of (Skopje) Zoo, the Prime Minister said.
By allocating funds for Bitola industrial zone, the Government offers possibility for dynamic economic development of this region, Gruevski said.
Bitola - the city of universities, cultural center, and one of the oldest in Macedonia has a potential to become a driving power of Macedonia's economic development, Gruevski said.
This investment is part of the activities for equitable regional development and is expected to stimulate opening of new industrial zones in other municipalities, Gruevski said.
