8 NEW HIV-AIDS CASES REPORTED IN MACEDONIA

Seven new AIDS cases and one new HIV case have been reported in Macedonia this year.

On the occasion of the World AIDS Day, the National Health Care Institute (RZZ) said there are 110 HIV/AIDS cases in Macedonia.

Three patients died from the deadly virus this year. The total number of HIV/AIDS-related deaths is 60.

The first HIV case in Macedonia was registered in 1987. The vast majority of those infected are males. The most frequent mode of transmission is sexual intercourse.
