MAYOR THREE YEARS IN PRISON

Kiril Todorovski, the Mayor of the Skopje's Municipality of Aerodrom has been sentenced to three years in prison for receiving 100,000 euros bribery.
Besides Todorovski, two more municipal officials got prison terms of three, i.e. one year.
The Police arrested the Mayor last April under suspicions of receiving kickbacks totaling 100,000 euros. During the trial, he claimed he received the money as a donation for building a church.
After the trial, Todorovski - who had been elected as Mayor as a candidate of the ruling VMRO DPMNE - said that the accusations against him were of political background.
