NO PROGRESS IN INVESTIGATION OF GLIGOROV ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT
National.
No progress has been made in the investigation of the 1995 assassination attempt on the ex-President Kiro Gligorov as the Prosecution Office rejected today the allegations of involvement of the State Security Service.
The investigation found that the controversial photo of the car-bomb used in the assassination was taken by a German Professor who had come to Macedonia for a visit, and not by the witness - an ex-member of the State Security Service, the Public Prosecutor Ljupco Shvrgovski informed today.
The Prosecution Office confirmed they got hold of the film negative and the pictures taken by the German Professor.
The supplementary investigation failed to confirm witness's allegations that an employee of the State Security Service had bought the car bomb from Serbia. The car sellers did not recognize the person that was indicated as the buyer.
