TOURIST AGENCIES MARK DROP IN BOOKING ARRANGEMENTS

National.

The number of tourist agencies' travel arrangements is marking a slight drop compared to the previous years.

According to the Macedonian Association of Tourist Agencies (ATAM), there are several reasons for such a negative trend, including placing unreliable information by the media for unfulfilled obligations on the side of the agencies.

ATAM explains that an unsatisfied customer should report the complaint to the tour operator or the agency's representative on the spot. In the case the problem remains unsolved, a record containing details on the damage inflicted to the customer is being composed and forwarded to the agency that is bind to provide the client with response within 14 days.

The Association urges the media to restrain from conveying suspicious citizens' information until this procedure is completed, because it might cause a grave damage to the agencies.

According to Stevan Peshevski, a member of ATAM's Steering Board, the number of booked traveling arrangements dropped because of the extensive indebtness of the citizens, i.e. raising of bank loans on massive scale over the past period.

MD: The Association urges the media to restrain from conveying suspicious citizens' information until this procedure is completed, because, as said, it might cause a grave damage to the agencies.
