National.

Approximately 140 German businessmen from Munich listened the story about Macedonia as a successful business destination presented on Friday by the Macedonian government team led by Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, MIA correspondent reported.

PM Gruevski outlined Macedonia's key priorities at political and economic plan. The economic reforms - an overall picture of the accomplishments made in the previous period and a vision for the future - were presented by Vice PM Zoran Stavreski, whereas Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski focused on the investment opportunities in infrastructure such as transportation corridors, airports, the hotel business, real estates and telecommunications.

Bavarian Minister of State for Economy Erwin Huber delivered an address at the promotion, emphasising that Bavarian businessmen were interested to invest in Macedonia. Concluding his address, he evaluated that the Macedonian Government made an excellent economic breakthrough, especially by introducing new technology. Theo Waigel, former German finance minister and advisor of the Macedonian Government, delivered a speech "Macedonia, EU and NATO Candidate Country" before the German businessmen.

Macedonia has an advantage in terms of taxes, free economic zones, something which is rare in each country and it must be used, noted Waigel. He said Macedonia was on a good path generally and towards the EU, thus "the chances must be used in order to make a step further".

Macedonia today in Munich and yesterday in Stuttgart was presented successfully and left an excellent business card, stated Waigel after the presentation. Following the promotion, the Macedonian government delegation held a meeting with representatives of RWE energy company.

Speaking to the reporters after the presentation, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said that it was good that the presentations were held in Stuttgart and Munich - in Baden-Wurttemberg and Bavaria - two German states that had great advantage in terms of economic development.

We presented the opportunities and advantages offered by Macedonia before large group of businessmen. This is an excellent opportunity to present the advantages in most direct and close manner, said Gruevski. We offer many advantages, many opportunities and I hope this presentations will result in success, stressed PM Gruevski at the end of his 2-day working visit to Germany.
