RUPEL EXPECTS MACEDONIA TO JOIN NATO
National.
Macedonia will receive invitation for joining NATO, which could make her "an anchor of stability" in the region.
This was said on Thursday in Ljubljana, Slovenia by the chief of Slovenian diplomacy Dimitrij Rupel at the session of the Commission for foreign affairs of the Slovenian Parliament.
"Macedonia will, if something unexpected will not happen, at the next NATO summit in Bucharest most probably receive a invitation for joining the alliance, regardless of the issue with Greece about the country's name", Rupel said.
He categorically stated that if NATO is resilient, there will be no possibility of veto for Macedonia's accession to the Alliance.
One member of the Slovenian Parliament, representative of the Hungarian minority, initiated a motion Slovenia immediately to abolish visa's for Macedonian citizens, to which Rupel replied that Slovenia, as a member of the Schengen system, can not bring unilateral decisions.
