AMERICAN MOTORWAY ARCHITECTURE EXHIBITION IN SKOPJE

An exhibition of photographs entitled “American Architecture along Motorways” by John Margolis is opening at the City of Skopje Museum at 8.00 p.m. today in organization of the Skopje Museum and the US Embassy in Macedonia.
US Ambassador to Macedonia Gillian Milovanovic will open the show consisting of 67 photographs of the already defunct old, inventive architecture along the motorways throughout the country, which started to fade away at the end of the 1950s and almost vanished at the beginning of the 21st century.
An art historian, Margolis has explored the continental part of the United States to eternize the pictures of tradition in the American vanishing business. The photographs exhibited in Skopje are a part of a stock of thousands of photographs made during his 100,000-kilometer-long trip. Besides in Skopje, the show will be set at the Art Gallery in Tetovo (21st February – 1st March) and the Bezisten Gallery in Stip (6-12 March).
