HAGUE PROSECUTERS SEEK 12 YEARS FOR BOSKOSKI AND 15 FOR TARCULOVSKI

The Hague Prosecution is seeking for 12-year prison sentence for Ljube Boskoski and 15 years for Johan Tarculovski. The two are charged with command and personal responsibility regarding the operation conducted by Macedonian security forces in the village of Ljuboten on 12 August 2001.
The prosecutors claimed that the ex-Interior Minister Ljube Boskoski failed to investigate and sanction several crimes, including seven murders, brutal treatment of 36 ethnic Albanians and reckless destruction of 14 houses.
The defense attorneys are due to make closing statements tomorrow.
Previously, the attorneys said the prosecutors had no evidence to prove the defendants' involvement in Ljuboten case . The defense will urge the court to acquit the defendants.
The trial on Ljuboten case, stemming from Macedonia's 2001 conflict, began on 16 April 2007, with the hearing of 64 summoned by prosecutors and defense attorneys and over 1,000 evidence items were presented.
