MACEDONIA NEEDS NEW POLITICAL DIALOGUE
National.
Macedonia now needs a constructive dialogue between all political players as well as consensus for completion of the reforms necessary for the European integration of the country, EU Enlargement Commissioner's spokesperson said today.
Olli Rehn's spokesperson Krisztina Nagy gave this statement in the context of the situation in Macedonia following the parliamentary elections.
"Commissioner Rehn thinks that a new political climate between all political players in the country has to be put in place. The constructive dialogue between all political parties, both the governing and opposition ones, will be of key importance for the consensus on reforms," Nagy said in at a press conference.
She conveyed Commissioner Rehn's expectations that "the new government will take vigorous steps for completion of the reform agenda to the benefit of the citizens and the European aspirations of the country."
"There is still much to be done in other areas highlighted as priorities in out Report from last November. The recommendation for opening of negotiations will depend on the achievements of the country," Nagy said.
