MHRMI TO COLLABORATE WITH THE GOVERNMENT
National.
Macedonian Human Rights Movement International (MHRMI) is pleased to announce its collaboration with the government of the Republic of Macedonia in lobbying for international recognition of Macedonia's constitutional name and human rights for the oppressed Macedonian minorities in Greece, Bulgaria, Albania and Serbia.
MHRMI will also work with the Macedonian government in continuing to strengthen ties with the United States and Canada and will continue its lobbying efforts in Washington, Ottawa and throughout the world to ensure Macedonia's entry into NATO and the European Union.
Details were finalized on February 8, 2009 in Toronto, when MHRMI board members met with Macedonian Members of Parliament, Aleksandar Nikoloski and Vlatko Gjorchev.
MHRMI reiterated its position that Macedonia cease all negotiations over its name and thanked the Macedonian government for its efforts involving human rights for Macedonians in the neighbouring countries and specifically, its pressure on Greece to recognize its large Macedonian minority and the right of return for Macedonian political refugees.
