MACEDONIAN & DUTCH MUSICIANS-TECHNOLOGY PENETRATES TRADITION
Culture.
A music workshop entitled “Technology Penetrates Tradition” is opening in Ohrid today through 23rd July. Organised by the Public Room Citizens’ Association in Skopje in collaboration with Zoes Foundation for Arts and Culture in the Netherlands, the workshop is aimed at initiating a dialogue between the two countries’ cultures through music and providing awareness on different manners of creating and performing music.
“Technology Penetrates Tradition” is an experimental project organised for the first time in our country. This involves 20 musicians, 10 of Macedonia and the Netherlands each. The Dutch musicians use modern technology whereas Macedonian young musicians are playing on traditional acoustic instruments thus making an unusual union.
