MACEDONIA'S BUSSINES CLIMATE SATISFYING

National.

63% of companies working in Macedonia say the business climate there is ‘satisfying’, a poll finds.

30% of the companies say the climate for business is bad while only 7% referred to it as good, according to the study by the German-Macedonian Economic Federation.

The research conducted in February shows that most of the home as well as the foreign-based companies complain about the legal safety, inefficient administration, corruption and a lack of transparency in public tenders.

“Kosovo and Serbia elections” are some of the most important “regional issues” that foreign companies consider before entering Macedonia, the President of the German-Macedonia Economic Federation, Manfred Neuenhouse, told media in Skopje.

The representative of the German embassy in Macedonia who was present at the unveiling of the survey’s results, Elizabeth Miller argued that “the interest of German companies for investing in Macedonia is on the rise.”

According to the research, most companies do not regret putting their investments in Macedonia.
