YEAR OF MACEDONIAN LANGUAGE IN MOSCOW

Macedonian-Russian cultural relations in the past and present with shedding light on the particular role of Russian Slave language scholars in the 19th and the first decades of the 20th centuries in determining the specificity of the Macedonian language were the issues consider at the meeting of the Macedonian and Russian Academicians in the Institute of Slav Languages with the Russian Academy of Sciences and Arts on Wednesday.
The meeting also discussed activities of the Macedonian associations in Russia in the first decades of the 20th century as well as presented publications in Macedonian and Russian dedicated to the Year of the Macedonian Language as well as some publications in Balkan and Slav area of research and the first translation of a Macedonian novel in Russian, “Pirej” by Petre M. Andreevski. A two-member delegation including Academician Blaze Ristevski and Prof. Ilija Velev visited Moscow for the events.
