CROATIA EXPECTS 2000 MACEDONIAN FANS

The Croatian town of Varazdin has completed preparations for the World Handball Championship as well as for about 5,000 foreign fans expected to arrive, including 2,000 from Macedonia.
Representatives of the Organizational Board in Varazdin - the host-town in which Macedonian national team will play the matches in a group along with Poland, Germany, Russia, Algeria and Tunisia - stated this at a press conference Wednesday, Makfax agency said.
Majority of the supporters from abroad will be from Macedonia - about 2,000. Some 1,500 Germans and 1,000 Russians are also due to arrive.
Because of the great interest of the Macedonian sport fans, Skopje-based company Alkaloid decided to put up a stand at the Varazdin square, at which special events for the numerous fans will be staged.
The matches in Varazdin in the Group C of the World Men's Handball Championship will kick off on 17 January with a bout between Macedonia and Tunisia.
